How to Handle Bad Days

stressed young manHave you ever had one of those days where you think, things can’t get any worse than this and then something worse happens? We’ve all had those days.

One life lesson I’ve learnt is that bad days are just what they are, bad days and nothing more. It doesn’t mean I’m a failure, inadequate or that my life is over. Such days can be very frustrating and it’s easy to keep thinking about the day, it’s impact on your life, work, relationships, faith but remember you can’t change the past, no matter how much you worry and think about it, especially thinking about how you could have prevented it.

So instead of dwelling on your mistakes or the bad things that happened, look ahead and be positive that tomorrow will be better. Seemingly bad days will always come, but you don’t have to let it affect you (your positive disposition)

If you have had a bad day, learn from it and then let it go. Don’t rehash it over and over or magnify it. There will be many more and even better opportunities to try again.

How do you deal with bad days? Please share in the comments.

  1. Talk with a friend — who will just listen and support you. Maybe later talk to a different kind of friend who might help you learn from the adventure and how to handle similar situations in the future.
Do something different — run on the beach; go out dancing; play some basketball. Do something fun and physical that has some degree of expressiveness. It puts better chemicals in your blood; it reminds you that whatever was bad about the day (work, relation) is not everything there is to life; it reminds you that you can impact what happens and have some success.
Do something for others — a random act of kindness can put you in a far better mood.
